Job Description

The MU Production Scheduler is responsible to create a detailed scheduled plan from the planned orders provided on a weekly base by the MU Supply Planner (non-principal) or the Regional Supply Planner (principal).


The MU Production Scheduler is part of the Operations function. The Operations function ensures the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, providing products, services and information that add value for customers and stakeholders. The function manages sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain (warehousing, logistics and distribution) and planning processes and ensures optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale, taking into account efficiency, required flexibility, security of supply and considering costs, working capital, quality levels, service levels, company and society values.

RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACTIVITIES:

  • Create a detailed day to day production plan from the planned orders provided by the MU Supply Planner (non-principal) or the Regional Supply Planner (principal) on a weekly base. The objective is to create a detailed plan with minimized cleaning and change-over times but the volumes per SKU per week as provided by the MU Supply Planner (non-principal) or the Regional Supply Planner (principal) can’t be changed. Unavoidable deviations should be communicated to the Supply Planner.
  • In case of out of stock situations update the scheduled orders in the fixed horizon according to the instruction of by the MU Supply Planner (non-principal) or the Regional Supply Planner (principal).
  • Execute the scheduling activities according to the instructions in the weekly planning cycle for the Manufacturing units.
  • Follow up with production department on the detailed plan of the current week on a daily base and align the detailed plan for the next planning week with the production department on a at least a weekly base.
  • In case of unexpected events like unplanned material shortage, machine breakdowns, quality issues etc inform the MU Supply Planner (non-principal) or the Regional Supply Planner (principal). Follow up with the factory (production, material planner, transport planner, etc) on the agreed actions set by the MU- or Regional Supply Planner.
  • Run a daily report on open productions orders with a due date in the past. Coordinate closure of the production order in case productions confirmations are not expected.
  • Collect and provide information for the production adherence KPI TOP &TAP. Allocate the right reason code to a deviation and initiate initiatives to improve future performance.
  • Set-up master data for new products. Set-up routings and Bill of Materials and provide the settings for the MRP material master data fields. In case of a principal factory the minimum order quantity and the production frequency needs approval from the Regional Supply Planner.
  • In case of a principal factory: set-up regular (at least bi-weekly) meetings with production and maintenance department to collect the available hours per workcenter and provide these to the Regional Supply Planner.

Qualifications

  • Academic Program: Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, (or related field). 
  • Experienced: At least 2 years in professional experience, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Skillset:
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Document Management Systems
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities to work cross-functionally.
  • Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
